Tharoor stated, “Not helping Sheikh Hasina would have been disgraceful for India. If we behave poorly with our friends, no one will want to be friends with us. Hasina Ji has good relations with all Indian leaders. She is a friend of India, and when friends are in trouble, no one thinks twice about helping them. The Indian government has also stood by Hasina during this difficult time, bringing her here and ensuring her safety. As an Indian, I commend the Indian government for its actions. India has done the right thing regarding Hasina.”
