India's Solutions for Global Food Security: Modi at International Agri Conference 🌾


Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists in Delhi, marking a significant event as this global agriculture conference is being held in India after 65 years. The conference was organized with the agenda of establishing stable agricultural food systems and addressing global food security challenges.

Modi emphasized India's role in developing solutions for international food security, highlighting the importance of agriculture in India's economic policies. He stated that small farmers are the backbone of India's food security and expressed happiness over hosting the conference after more than six decades.

PM Modi explained to the agricultural economists that India plans its strategies by considering the six distinct seasons of the country. He pointed out that India has 15 agro-climatic zones, each with its unique characteristics. India is a surplus producer of milk, spices, and pulses, demonstrating the strength of its agricultural sector.

Modi remarked on the ancient nature of India's agricultural traditions, noting that they are infused with wisdom and logic. He assured that his government prioritizes organic farming and provides numerous incentives to the agriculture sector. In the last 10 years, Indian agricultural scientists have developed 1,900 new crop varieties, a feat Modi praised.

The conference aims to enhance collaboration between agricultural research institutions and universities, fostering innovation and development in the agricultural sector. Modi's vision underscores the strategic importance of agriculture in ensuring global food security while leveraging India's traditional knowledge and modern advancements.
