India is set to begin the first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, marking a significant day in the world's largest democracy. On April 19th, voters across 21 states and union territories will head to the polls for 102 parliamentary seats. This includes simultaneous elections for 60 Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh and 92 in Sikkim.

The Election Commission has meticulously prepared for the polling day to ensure a smooth and peaceful electoral process. Over 1.87 lakh polling stations are set up to accommodate an estimated 16.63 crore eligible voters. Approximately 18 lakh personnel have been deployed to manage the election proceedings, which will run from 7 AM to 6 PM in most areas, with an early closure at 5 PM in hill and problematic regions to ensure safety and order.

Vigorous campaigning has concluded, and now itā€™s time for the voters to exercise their democratic right. With high security in place, including a significant deployment of central forces at polling stations, the Election Commission is committed to conducting free, fair, and accessible elections.
