Why did mainstream media call Congress led alliance as INDI Alliance but not BJP led alliance ND Alliance.
The one thing that was done right by Congress in its much delayed effort to cobble together an anti-saffron alliance was coming up with the alliance acronym I.N.D.I.A.. This caught BJP on a backfoot with them having to call INDIA a british terminology and trying to hype up Bharath instead but it was not catching the public imagination. However BJP came up with a simple solution of calling it INDI alliance thereby removing the magic of the INDIA name in the alliance acronym. That was a very smart move by BJP strategists. But was surprising was how the media mainstream by always saying INDI alliance. The same standard didnt apply for the media in terms of NDA. They never called it ND Alliance.
