Increased Toll Charges Effective April 1


The toll plazas on the national highways across the country have come into effect. Once a year on April 1, the toll fee increases. The National Highways Development Authority (NHAI), which has taken the increase in road maintenance charges as a norm, has prepared new charges this time as well. Last year, the prices of various categories of vehicles were increased from 8 percent to 15 percent.. This time, the increase was limited to less than 5.50 percent. There are toll plazas at For cars, jeeps and vans Rs.5 for one way journey, Rs.10 including Ranupo, light commercial vehicles Rs.10 for one way, both ways Rs.20, similarly for bus, trucks Rs.25, Rs.35 for heavy transport vehicles Rs.35 and Rs.50 each increased. Return journey within 24 hours will get 25 percent discount on all types of vehicles. The monthly pass of locals has also been increased. Those passes have been increased from Rs.330 to Rs.340. About 40,000 vehicles pass through the Pantangi toll plaza on the Vijayawada National Highway. Officials said that 5,000 more vehicles will go on weekends when auspicious activities are high. The increased toll prices will burden the common man. The increased prices will be in effect till March 31, 2025.
