Currently, an MLA in Andhra Pradesh receives around ₹1.25 lakhs per month. Due to the unavailability of MLA quarters, an additional ₹50,000 is provided as House Rent Allowance (HRA). Besides these, MLAs receive sitting allowances and telephone facilities. Higher-ranking officials like the Chief Minister, Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Council Chairman, Council Deputy Chairman, Government Chief Whip, Whips, PAC Chairman, and Leader of the Opposition receive higher salaries and allowances.
These amounts can vary by state depending on the financial conditions. Former MLAs also receive pensions, medical, and travel facilities, and in the event of their death, their spouses are granted pensions.
