Himachal Campaign Crosses Limits

Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha elections are heating up with four seats to be contested on June 1. Candidates from BJP and Congress are fiercely campaigning, but personal attacks have crossed limits. Leaders are hurling insults, calling each other names like "Kale Nag," "Bigda Shehzada," and "Husn Pari." Senior BJP leader and former CM Shanta Kumar expressed concern over the declining standards in politics, criticizing the comments made by Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Sukhu’s remarks about Congress rebel MLAs, calling them "Kale Nag" and "Bikau," have sparked controversy. Social media is abuzz with Congress leader Supriya’s viral comment about BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut, questioning "the rate in Mandi," leading to a heated exchange. Kangana retaliated by calling Congress leader Vikramaditya "Chhota Muddapappu" and criticized the Gandhi family. The political environment in Himachal is becoming more personal and aggressive as election day approaches.
