Heroism or Environmental Threat? Pawan Kalyan Criticizes Film Trends

During his visit to Bengaluru, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan addressed the media ahead of his meeting with the Karnataka Forest Minister to discuss measures against illegal red sandalwood smuggling. In the press conference, he expressed concerns about the current trend in movies where deforestation is portrayed as heroism.

Pawan Kalyan reminisced about the late Kannada actor Rajkumar's film Gandhada Gudi, which focused on protecting forests, stating, "I always wanted to act in films with such themes. Previously, heroes protected forests, but now, wielding axes and engaging in smuggling is considered heroism. Sometimes, I feel saddened being part of this industry. We need more films that highlight the importance of preserving our forests."

Pawan Kalyan's remarks have sparked speculation among netizens, with many interpreting them as indirect criticism of Allu Arjun's film Pushpa, where the character is involved in smuggling activities related to forest destruction.
