Even 15 days after the T20 World Cup, the cricket fever in India hasn't cooled down! Players are returning to their hometowns and receiving massive welcomes. Recently, Hardik Pandya, the vice-captain who led the team to victory, returned to his hometown Vadodara. Fans turned out in huge numbers to greet their hero.
Hardik Pandya's return was celebrated with an open-top bus parade, where he waved to his fans lining the streets. The parade followed a grand reception in Mumbai, where Team India arrived on July 4th. The team participated in events with Prime Minister Modi and BCCI before dispersing to their homes.
Hardik stayed back in Mumbai for a few more events, including attending Anant Ambani's wedding. Finally, he made his way to Vadodara, sharing a video of the grand welcome on Instagram. Other cricketers like Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav also received warm welcomes in their hometowns.
In the T20 World Cup 2024 final, Hardik's exceptional bowling against South Africa, including dismissing David Miller in the last over, secured India's victory.
