Energetic star Ram and director Puri Jagannadh's latest collaboration, "Double iSmart," has fans buzzing with excitement after the release of its first audio single. The action thriller, a sequel to "iSmart Shankar," features Kavya Thapar as the heroine and Sanjay Dutt in a powerful villain role.
Both Ram and Puri are carrying high expectations as this pan-India movie follows major setbacks in their careers. Slated for an August 15 release, promotions are in full swing.
Mani Sharma has composed a perfect mass beat for the song. While it might remind some of the title track from the first movie, the differences become clear upon multiple listens. Despite the repeat of the getup, the visuals are catchy, and the melody master has added a more mass appeal this time. Sung by Anurag Kulkarni and Sahiti, with lyrics by Bhaskarabhatla, the song fits Puri's commercial style.
It's hard to predict if it will be a chartbuster, but it's sure to raise expectations for "Double iSmart." With only 45 days left for release, Puri has sped up post-production work.
"Double iSmart" is expected to open big, competing with two small films and Vikram's "Thangalaan" on the same day. Ram, confident in the film's success, has already locked his next project with "Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty" fame Mahesh Babu.
