Grand Ugadi Celebrations Light Up Srisailam!

The ancient town of Srisailam, nestled in the Nandyal district, is buzzing with the vibrant celebrations of Ugadi, marking a visual feast for the devotees. On the second day of the festivities, Goddess Bhramaramba Devi, adorned in the magnificent form of Maha Durga, offered blessings to the devotees.

In the temple premises, a special stage was set up where the deity, seated in the Maha Durga form, was worshipped with elaborate rituals by the priests and the temple's Executive Officer, Peddiraju, along with his spouse. The ceremonial offerings included camphor aarti, captivating the hearts of those present.

The highlight of the celebrations was the procession of the deities through the streets of Srisailam, accompanied by traditional performances such as Guravayya dance, tiger dance, kolatas, and Kannadiga dances, all set against the backdrop of band music.

Prior to the festival, devotees, filled with devotion and reverence, visited the deities to offer their prayers and partake in the camphor aarti. A special village festival featuring the deities Bhramaramba and Mallikarjuna Swamy was also conducted, drawing a large crowd of Kannada devotees. The event saw the active participation of the Executive Officer Peddiraju and his wife, the DSP of Atmakur, Srinivasulu, and a significant number of Kannada devotees, showcasing the communal harmony and spiritual fervor that marks the Ugadi celebrations in Srisailam.
