Hyderabad is seeing a troubling rise in marijuana usage, with smugglers from other states targeting the city's youth and students. Recently, police arrested a man selling ganja in Gandi Maisamma area. This trend is especially worrying around engineering colleges, where supply is rampant. In the latest incident, Balapur Police Station caught another smuggler.
Jai Nuddin from Assam was living in Shahjahan Nagar, Balapur, and selling ganja to local youths and students. During a search operation, police arrested him and seized 2 kilograms of ganja, estimated to be worth around ₹50,000. Jai Nuddin had been buying ganja from an unknown person in Assam and selling it in Hyderabad for profit. The police have registered a case against him and remanded him to custody.
