When the woman called back from another number asking if this number belonged to her, the other person said that you have received a courier. 🏢🏃♀️ The woman told the details. 🗂️📩 Soon after that, a message was received on the phone that two transactions were made from the woman's bank account. 🏦📧 But she did not share any information like OTP (One Time Password) with the scammer. 🛡️📩 But this was done through SIM swapping, Delhi Police Cyber Wing said.
📜 SIM swapping scam is .. 🔐 Scammer gains access to your SIM card and manipulates it. They trick the network provider into linking your number to the SIM card they have. 🎭📶 After that you will get control over your phone number. Anyone calling or texting this number will connect to the scammers' device. As the SIM number gets lost in their hands, they have the option of doing two-step authentication, or getting OTPs. 🔒📲
