She stated in her complaint that she came into contact with the accused six months ago after ordering food on a delivery app.
The accused delivered food to her hotel where she was attending a function. She used the e-wallet to pay for the food after it was delivered. At the same time, the accused asked him to transfer the money to his phone pay. This allowed the delivery boy to get her phone number. The complaint stated that he was annoying her by sending messages and calling her frequently. But over time, following her and contacting her frequently, the two became friends. The accused then asked the woman to meet him at a hotel on Thursday night. He picked her up on a bike and took her to the hotel. The woman complained to the police on Friday that she was sexually assaulted while she was sleeping. Based on the phone number given by the victim, the police were able to identify and nab the accused. A case has been registered against him under Section 376 of the IPC for rape along with Sections 354-D and 354.
