Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena revealed that a total of nine EVMs were damaged during polling, seven of which were in the Macherla constituency. Multiple cases have been filed against Reddy under various sections.
The EC has started taking action against officials involved in the incident. Polling officers and other staff at the Palwai Gate polling station have been suspended. The video evidence from the Macherla polling station showing the EVM destruction led to these suspensions. The EC has mandated these officials to submit an explanation by Thursday evening.
