Energy Drinks Shocking Impact on Youth's Sleep Quality Revealed!

Energy drinks are getting super popular, especially among young people. But experts warn that daily consumption of these drinks can cause serious health issues, including sleep problems. A recent study uncovered some interesting facts about this.

Researchers found that college students, in particular, are experiencing decreased sleep quality and insomnia due to frequent consumption of energy drinks. This study, conducted in Norway, revealed that people who regularly consume energy drinks have trouble sleeping at night. Even drinking energy drinks just 1 to 3 times a month can increase the risk of sleep disruption, experts say. Energy drinks are high in sugar, vitamins, minerals, and caffeine, which are known to cause sleep problems.

On average, one liter of energy drink contains about 150 mg of caffeine. While these drinks are marketed to boost energy, they actually lead to sleep disturbances. Despite the claims of energy boost, studies show that youth are particularly drawn to these drinks. The caffeine in energy drinks is a major factor disrupting sleep. Although some studies suggest that energy drinks can reduce sleep, the extent of the impact has been unclear. To investigate further, researchers conducted a study with 53,266 participants aged 18-35.

The study looked at whether participants drank energy drinks and how well they slept. Results showed that those who drank energy drinks daily slept about half an hour less than others. They also experienced frequent awakenings during the night and had trouble falling back asleep.
