Election Commission Takes Serious Note of Chandrababu Naidu's Comments

As the election fever heats up in Andhra Pradesh, the Election Commission has issued notices to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu following a complaint by the YSRCP. At the same time, based on TDP's complaint, notices were also sent to Minister Jogi Ramesh and YSRCP leader Lella Appi Reddy by CEO Mukesh Kumar Meena.

The complaint against Chandrababu Naidu was lodged for his campaign speeches in Emmiganur, Markapuram, and Bapatla on March 31st, where he allegedly used inappropriate language against CM Jagan, violating the election code. The YSRCP leaders Lella Appi Reddy and Malladi Vishnu reported these incidents to CEO Mukesh Kumar Meena, leading to the issuance of notices to Naidu. He has been given 48 hours to respond to these notices, failing which further action may be taken, including a report to the Central Election Commission. The YSRCP has accused Chandrababu Naidu of portraying CM Jagan as a destructive ruler, putting the future of the people in darkness.

On the other hand, the Election Commission also responded to a complaint by TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah against Minister Jogi Ramesh and YSRCP leader Lella Appi Reddy. The complaint was based on a false campaign alleging that Chandrababu Naidu had stopped pensions through a court petition. Video evidence was provided along with the complaint, leading to the issuance of notices to Jogi Ramesh based on the video's content. The TDP has also complained about a post on YSRCP's official X account on April 1st, accusing Chandrababu Naidu of halting volunteer services, which the Election Commission confirmed as against the electoral code, issuing notices to Lella Appi Reddy. Both parties have been given 48 hours to provide their explanations. TDP leaders have warned that if the state's chief electoral officer does not act, they will escalate the issue to the incoming election observers.
