Delhi High Court Orders AP News Channels Restoration

The Delhi High Court has issued crucial orders to restore the broadcasts of Sakshi, TV9, NTV, and 10TV in Andhra Pradesh. The court emphasized that freedom of expression cannot be hindered, instructing 15 MSOs to immediately reinstate the blocked channels.

National media organizations have welcomed the Delhi High Court's decision. The News Broadcasters Federation (NBF) and the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA) praised the orders, describing the ruling as historic. They stressed that freedom of expression is a cornerstone of democracy and applauded the court for upholding this principle.

The NBF noted that the new government in Andhra Pradesh had exerted pressure on cable operators to block these channels. The NBDA urged political parties to respect the independence of news channels and stated that there should be no interference with media freedom.
