🔵 Section 144 was imposed in districts during Karnataka Bandh. Schools and colleges were closed in the state.
They are protesting against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Security has been tightened in 5 districts bordering Karnataka. Checkposts have been set up in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode and Nilgiris. Actions have been taken to prevent untoward incidents. Restrictions have been imposed on vehicles going towards Tamil Nadu.
🌐 In view of Kannada farmers' bandh, Karnataka police has made heavy police deployment. The farmers' associations have announced that they will block vehicles and even planes on the roads during the bandh. In the wake of the bandh, the government has announced a holiday for all educational institutions in Bengaluru city. Autorickshaw drivers union, Ola, Uber drivers and car owners association supported the bandh. Shopping malls and movie theaters were closed. Emergency services like banks, ambulances, pharma vehicles, hospitals, medical shops are made available. 🇮🇳
