Closure of Kia Motors dealerships in Pakistan

South Korean car brand Kia Motors has closed four car dealerships in Pakistan. Kia, which has been selling vehicles in Pakistan for almost three decades, will end its journey due to the severe economic crisis in the country. It is said that the reason for this is the decrease in production and increase in prices in Pakistan. The company has decided to close its Dinto Kia Motors Quetta, Kia Motors Chenab Gujarat, Kia Motors Avenue Dera Ghazi Khan and Motors Gateway Mardan dealerships.

Kia's parent company is Hyundai, while Kia has a total of 31 dealerships across 17 cities in Pakistan. Kia Motors sells models like Picanto, Stonic, Sportage, Sorento and Carnival in Pakistan. Kia has been operating in Pakistan since 1990. In 1994, a company called Naya Daur Motors sold the Kia Pride and Sedan models in Pakistan. Later, in December 1998, Dewan Farooq Motor Company Limited (DFML) joined forces with Hyundai and Kia to assemble and sell vehicles in Pakistan. In 2017, the company started a joint venture with Kia Lucky Motor Pakistan. In 2020 its name was changed to Lucky Motor Corporation.
