#ChhattisgarhEncounter: 11 Maoists Killed in Major Operation

A significant encounter took place in the dense forests of Kurreyvai, Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, resulting in the death of 11 Maoists. The police and Maoists engaged in a fierce gun battle as security forces continued their search operations in the Dandakaranya region.

The Narayanpur district has been a hotbed for Maoist activity. To tackle this, around 1,400 security personnel were deployed to comb the Abhujmad Dandakaranya forest. The clash occurred during one of these combing operations when Maoists confronted the security forces, leading to a gunfight.

According to IG Sanjay Raj, the encounter happened under the Kohkameta Police Station limits in the Ambujmad area. Security forces, including the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, Border Security Force, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, have been actively involved in this operation since Monday.
