#ChandrababuVsJagan: Chandrababu's Fiery Remarks on Jagan's Opposition Status Demand

In a heated exchange in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made sensational comments regarding the opposition status sought by YSRCP leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. For the first time, Chandrababu has responded to Jagan's request for official opposition status.

Countering Jagan's demands, Chandrababu criticized him harshly, stating that the people did not grant Jagan the opposition status, yet he is demanding it. Chandrababu emphasized that such positions are granted by the people's mandate, not by force or threats. He further added that power and positions cannot be acquired through criminal activities or intimidation.

Jagan had submitted petitions to the Assembly Speaker, requesting opposition status for YSRCP, despite the coalition government holding power. He warned that they would approach the court if the status was not granted. However, coalition ministers and Speaker Ayyannapatrudu clarified during the Assembly session that opposition status can only be given to a party with at least 23 members, questioning how it could be granted to YSRCP with just 11 members.

In the recent AP Assembly elections, the TDP-led coalition, including Jana Sena and BJP, secured 164 out of 175 seats, leaving YSRCP with only 11 seats. It's important to note that from 2019 to 2024, YSRCP won 151 seats and remained in power for five years.
