Chandrababu Meets Modi Post Budget, Discusses Key State Issues


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is on a busy two-day visit to Delhi, where he is meeting with key leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This marks the first meeting between Chandrababu and Modi after the Union Budget, creating significant anticipation about the discussions.

Chandrababu's itinerary includes a series of crucial meetings. On his first day, he met with Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil at Shram Shakti Bhavan to discuss the Polavaram project extensively. The meeting was attended by several key officials and NDA MPs from Andhra Pradesh. Later, he joined NDA MPs from the state for a dinner meeting.

The highlight of his visit is scheduled for today at 4:30 PM, where Chandrababu will meet PM Modi. The discussions are expected to focus on the Union Budget promises, Amaravati’s reconstruction, Polavaram project funding, and financial aid for backward districts. There is also talk of addressing new loans and rescheduling debts incurred during the YSRCP government. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman allocated ₹15,000 crores for Amaravati, which will also be a point of discussion.

Following his meeting with Modi, Chandrababu is set to meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at 6 PM to request increased allocations for Andhra Pradesh and discuss pending issues from the bifurcation act. At 7 PM, he will meet with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the state's financial situation and request economic support. Chandrababu will also discuss the establishment of a Greenfield Crude Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Andhra Pradesh with Union Minister of Petroleum Hardeep Singh Puri.
