However, it has been clarified that aspartame used in coffee and tea is not as dangerous as tablets. Recent studies have shown an alarming rise in obesity worldwide. Aspartame, an artificial sweetener used in beverages, has been found to cause liver cancer known as 'hepatocellular carcinoma' in studies. International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), WHO (WHO), 👩‍🔬 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) have released a detailed study report. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener made from two amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Since 1980, it has been used as an artificial (chemical) sweetener in many food and soft drink products such as diet drinks, chewing gum, gelatin, ice cream, milk-yogurt products, toothpaste, cough syrup, chewing gum. ☕🍵 🚫 🧪 📚
