🎉 The prestigious Paris Paralympic Games concluded with a spectacular closing ceremony, bringing the event to a grand end on Sunday midnight (Indian Standard Time). Held at the historic Stade de France, the ceremony was a visual and cultural extravaganza, attended by around 60,000 spectators who were mesmerized by the diverse cultural performances.
🎶 Despite interruptions by rain, the atmosphere in the stadium was electrified by songs composed by France's top 20 DJs. Fans thoroughly enjoyed the music by renowned composer Jean-Michel Jarre and the famous duo Cassius, making it a night to remember for the athletes and attendees alike.
🚶♂️ Earlier, in a grand parade, para-athletes from 169 countries proudly walked with their national flags. Representing India, Harvinder Singh and Preetipal served as flag bearers. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo handed over the Paralympics flag to Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), who then passed it on to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Notably, Karen Bass became the first Black mayor to receive the Paralympics flag during the closing ceremony. French President Emmanuel Macron attended the event as the chief guest, adding more grandeur to the ceremony.
