Rahul Gandhi has accused the government of crippling the middle class with its budget policies. He claimed that demonetization and GST have caused irreversible damage to small and medium industries. According to Gandhi, tax terrorism has been used to intimidate these businesses, leading to increased unemployment in the country.
"They have targeted small and medium industries that provide millions of jobs as part of a conspiracy. They used demonetization, GST, and tax terrorism to threaten them. Small business owners receive threatening phone calls at midnight from IT and GST officers. The budget has done nothing to stop tax terrorism, benefiting big businesses while intimidating small ones," said Rahul Gandhi.
In response, BJP members protested Gandhi's remarks. Union Minister Kiran accused Rahul of misleading the assembly and disrespecting the Speaker. "You are disrespecting the Speaker and misleading the assembly. You need to learn the rules. It's strange that the opposition leader is unaware of the assembly rules," he said.
Rahul also criticized the Halwa Ceremony associated with the budget, stating that no Dalit or OBC officers were allowed to participate. He displayed a photo of the Halwa Ceremony in the assembly and demanded an immediate caste census. BJP members once again objected to his comments.
