BJP performs well in INC ruled states, INC performs well on allies strength

When a party is in power in a state it has an advantage in that state. However this appears to be inverse for Congress. It has fared badly in the only three states it rules.

In Karnataka NDA secured 19 seats and Congress could secure only 9 seats. Though it may be better performance then 2019 when Congress won only one seat and its then ally JDS won one seat, it is not the same. Since BJP is no more in power in the state and with INC in saddle it should have been able to secure more. After last years assembly elections if it had reached out to JDS before the BJP did then the situation in Karnataka would have benn different and situation in lok sabha today would be different.

In Haryana Congress won 5 out of the 10 seats loosing the remaing 5 to BJP. Considering the small vote percentage different if Congress had made effort to rope in any one smaller party to add 1% more to its vote share then things would have played out differently. Here too increase from 1 to 5 might be an increase but BJP still did well considering it has lost power in the statement.

In Telangana the situation reflects the same. Congress wrested power from BRS in recent assembly elections but BJP wrested BRS vote share in the lok sabha elections. Despite Coming to power in the state Congress won only 8 seats and BJP won the remaining 8 and MIM which plays friends with both ruling parties in center and state won the one seat thanks to BJP hardcore hindutva canidate help that esnure muslims despite their unhappiness voted for MIM's Owasi.

Congress did well on the strength of allies such as SP, DMK, Left, RJD, etc. If it had performed well in its own strongholds the game would have been different.
