BJP Leader Allegedly Votes with Minor Son, Sparks Outrage

In a shocking incident during the ongoing general elections, a video has gone viral showing a BJP leader in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly using his minor son to cast a vote. Captured on the third phase of polling on April 7, the video displays the leader guiding his son at the EVM, triggering widespread criticism.

Local Congress leaders have seized upon the incident, accusing the BJP of flouting electoral norms. Vinay Mehar, the leader shown in the video, was reportedly seen entering the polling booth with his son and a mobile phone, which itself is against the rules as electronic devices are not allowed inside the polling stations.

The brief clip, which lasts about 14 seconds, clearly shows Mehar and his son by the EVM machine, with the minor seemingly pressing the button. Post-vote, the VVPAT machine confirmed the vote was cast to the BJP, as evidenced by the lotus symbol.

The incident has prompted an uproar with calls for severe actions against the BJP leader. Kamal Nath's advisor, Piyush Babele, brought attention to the video on social media, questioning how the Election Commission would respond to such breaches of conduct.

The Bhopal District Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh stated that an investigation has been ordered and actions may be taken against the polling staff present during the incident. An FIR is expected to be filed against Vinay Mehar, marking a serious turn in the ongoing election saga.
