Better Stay Indoors: Scorching Sun Hits Telugu States Hard!

Whoa, folks! The sun is turning the heat up in the Telugu states, issuing a stern warning that stepping outside from 11 AM to 5 PM could lead to some serious discomfort. The daytime temperatures in many areas have already crossed the 40-degree Celsius mark. The weather department has warned that this sizzling scenario is likely to continue today as well. People are fretting over the unprecedented heat waves on one hand and the panic-inducing hot winds on the other. It’s been predicted that around 93 mandals might face the severe brunt of these hot winds. If this is the intensity of heat we are experiencing in early April, one can only wonder how extreme the temperatures might soar in May.

In Telangana, nine districts are reeling under the severe heat. The weather department forecasts that record-breaking hot winds might sweep across 34 mandals. Particularly, the combined districts of Nalgonda and Khammam are witnessing temperatures that are three and a half degrees higher than last year.

Moving to Andhra Pradesh, five unified districts, including Unified Vizianagaram, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur, are likely to experience these gusty hot winds. District-wise, it’s said that 6 mandals in Srikakulam, 20 in Vizianagaram, 8 in Parvathipuram Manyam, 11 in Anakapalli, 6 in Kakinada, 4 in Konaseema, 4 in Eluru, 2 in NTR district, 7 in Guntur, 2 in Palnadu, and 15 in East Godavari are susceptible to these conditions.

Just yesterday, Chagalamarri in Nandyal district and Kaligiri in Nellore district recorded the highest temperatures of 45.8 degrees Celsius. In YSR district’s Khajipet and Simhadripuram, temperatures soared to 45.6 degrees Celsius, Janakavaram Panguluru in Bapatla district saw 45.5 degrees, Alur in Kurnool district and Botlaguduru in Prakasam district experienced 45.4 degrees, and Vijayapuri in Palnadu district reached 45.2 degrees Celsius. Nearly 107 mandals faced the harsh impact of extreme hot winds.
