Team India's young cricketers Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer can say that the timing is not right. Kishan has not played for India since missing the series against South Africa earlier this year. According to the report, the BCCI is likely to announce the list of players subject to BCCI central contracts for the 2023-24 season in a few days. However, it was decided to exclude Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from this list as punishment for not playing the Ranji Trophy despite repeated warnings. That means, both of them will not get Rs.1 as annual salary from BCCI.

Ishan Kishan did not play a single match for Jharkhand in this season's Ranji Trophy. Shreyas Iyer has been included in the Mumbai team for the only Ranji Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh. However, he was not available for the quarter final against Baroda.
Also, NCA Head of Sports Science and Medicine, Nitin Patel, said that Iyer was fit to play, but he did not appear. He attended the Indian Premier League 2024 ad shoot. BCCI seems to be angry with this.
