Babu's Letter to Governor Amid Election Results

The polling for elections in Andhra Pradesh has concluded, and with three weeks left for counting and results, the caretaker government led by YSRCP is making significant decisions. This has led opposition parties to approach the Governor to halt these actions. After previously blocking contractor bill payments with the Governor's help, the opposition is now seeking to stop the government's plan to shut down the e-Office for software updates.

The government has decided to shut down the e-Office from May 17 to May 25 for upgrades. In response, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu has written to Governor Abdul Nazir, urging him to stop the e-Office upgrade. Naidu expressed suspicion over the hasty attempts to update the software, especially with a new government expected soon. He questioned the necessity of such an update at this juncture.

Naidu highlighted the lack of transparency in the current government's dealings, warning that the e-Office upgrade might facilitate further irregularities. The planned shutdown would render crucial services from the CMO, Chief Secretary, and various government departments unavailable during the upgrade period, raising concerns among officials and political parties.

Naidu also pointed out that important government orders (GOs) from the past five years have been kept secret and that the government retaliated against those questioning its transparency. He argued that undertaking the e-Office upgrade during the ongoing election process is inappropriate and requested the Governor to instruct the Chief Secretary to postpone the upgrade until the new government takes charge.

Furthermore, Naidu informed the Governor that many critical records have already gone missing. He alleged that the CID had destroyed several records without permission, violating norms. Despite filing complaints with the CEO, no action has been taken so far. Naidu emphasized the need to secure all files, note files, and records to prevent them from disappearing. He also recommended installing CCTV cameras in all Heads of Departments (HODs) and inspecting areas with existing cameras to ensure transparency.
