Ayodhya Temple Roof Leaks Ram Mandir Faces Water Issues

Less than six months after the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the temple's roof is leaking. Heavy rains on Saturday night led to water entering the sanctum sanctorum, with photos of the incident surfacing. Chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das revealed the issue on Monday, expressing surprise that despite engineers from across the country working on the temple, such a problem occurred.

Acharya Satyendra Das criticized the negligence in the construction, pointing out that there is no proper drainage system to channel the water out of the temple premises. The water is leaking in front of the Ram Lalla idol, the area where the priest sits, and the VIP viewing area. He emphasized that if the leakage continues, it will be difficult to conduct prayers inside.

Upon learning about the water leakage, Ayodhya Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra inspected the temple. He immediately directed officials to carry out repairs. Mishra explained to the media that the leakage is from the first floor, and once the second floor and the spire are completed, rainwater will no longer enter the sanctum sanctorum. He clarified that the construction of the temple is ongoing, with the first floor expected to be completed by July and the entire construction by December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram Mandir on January 22.
