AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Gets New OSD

In a notable appointment, the Andhra Pradesh government has appointed young IAS officer Mylavarapu VR Krishna Teja as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Krishna Teja, who is currently serving as the District Collector of Thrissur in Kerala, hails from Chilakaluripet in the Palnadu district.

Typically, RDO-level officers are appointed as OSDs to ministers. However, for Pawan Kalyan, IAS officer Krishna Teja’s appointment received special approval from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. A letter has been sent to the Central Government to request Krishna Teja's deputation to the state.

Krishna Teja has previously served as the MD of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, Director of the Tourism Department, Director of the SC Development Department, and Collector of Alappuzha district. Just two days ago, Krishna Teja met with Pawan Kalyan at the Secretariat.

Recognized for his outstanding service as the District Collector of Thrissur, Krishna Teja was selected for an award by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. He has been instrumental in making Thrissur a leader in child rights protection. A 2015 batch IAS officer, Krishna Teja took over as Collector in March 2023. During the pandemic, he identified 609 orphaned students who lost their parents to COVID-19 and facilitated their higher education with the help of donors. Additionally, he built houses for 35 widows and provided employment opportunities to 150 individuals who lost their husbands to COVID-19. Since taking on his responsibilities as an IAS officer, Krishna Teja has left a remarkable impact with his exemplary work.
