Andhra Pradesh Puts an End to Home Delivery of Ration!

The newly elected NDA coalition in Andhra Pradesh is reversing decisions made by the previous government. The Chandrababu Naidu-led administration has already cancelled several orders issued by the Jagan government. One of the major steps taken includes the termination of retired employees' services who were kept on by the previous YSRCP government. Chandrababu Naidu directed the Chief Secretary to immediately remove such employees and submit a report on the matter.

In another significant move, the Chandrababu government renamed the YSR Bima scheme to Chandranna Bima and increased the insurance amount from ₹3 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Additionally, the government decided to discontinue the door-to-door ration delivery program implemented by the previous administration.

Minister for Tribal Welfare and Women & Child Welfare, Gummadi Sandhya Rani, made several key decisions after meeting with officials from the Tribal Welfare Department. She announced the cessation of the door-to-door ration delivery in AP, stating that rations will now be distributed only through ration shops. The distribution of rations through DMU vehicles in tribal areas will also be stopped. However, in certain areas, the government expressed willingness to continue the door-to-door delivery scheme.

The minister mentioned that 960 ration shops in tribal areas will be restored. Furthermore, Sandhya Rani promised to introduce ANMs, feeder ambulances, and Thalli-Bidda express vehicles in tribal hostels soon.
