During this past Ramzan, Hyderabad once again showed its love for biryani and haleem. Data from a food delivery service revealed that almost 6 million biryanis were ordered nationwide during Ramzan, a 15% increase from usual. Hyderabad led the way with over 1 million biryanis and 530,000 plates of haleem ordered. Traditional favorites like biryani, haleem, and samosa were popular during iftar, the evening meal to break the fast. Haleem orders shot up by 1454.88%, followed by phirni with an 80.97% increase. Orders for malpua, falooda, and dates also saw huge jumps.
