Airtel User Data for Sale? Company Denies Breach Claims 🚨 #AirtelDataLeak

A hacker named 'Exgen' has claimed to have put up a database for sale containing personal information of 37.5 crore Airtel India users, including mobile numbers, birth dates, father's names, Aadhaar card details, and email IDs. The hacker has allegedly priced this database at ₹41 lakhs. Airtel has strongly denied these claims, stating that their systems have not been breached and this is purely misinformation. They assured users that there is no need to panic.

Airtel's Response: Airtel has conducted a thorough investigation and found no evidence of a data breach. They have reiterated that this claim is false and users should not be worried about their personal information.

Hacker's Claim: The hacker, however, insists that the data was leaked in June and has even shared a sample of the data. Exgen has also been linked to a previous breach involving the database of diplomatic passport holders managed by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Previous Incidents: This is not the first time Airtel has faced data breach allegations. In 2021, cybersecurity expert Rajasekhar Rajaharia reported that data of over 2.5 million Airtel users was uploaded on a website named 'Red Rabbit Team' and was later removed. Airtel had denied any breach at that time as well.
