Airtel's New ₹395 Prepaid Plan vs Jio's Competitive Offering

Airtel, one of India's top telecom networks, has a strong brand image for delivering high-speed, uninterrupted service, receiving positive feedback from users. Offering both prepaid and postpaid plans, Airtel has now introduced a new ₹395 prepaid recharge plan with a 56-day validity. This new plan aims to compete with Reliance Jio's existing plan at the same price point. Let's dive into the benefits of Airtel's new plan and compare it with Jio's offering.

Airtel ₹395 Plan Benefits:

  • Validity: 56 days

  • Unlimited Voice Calling

  • SMS: 600 SMS for 56 days (Local SMS at ₹1, STD SMS at ₹1.5 after free limit)

  • Data: 6GB

  • Additional Benefits:

  • Apollo 24|7 Circle access

  • Wynk Music subscription

  • Free Hellotunes

Airtel vs Jio:

Airtel’s new plan is priced similarly to a Jio plan but comes with distinct differences. While Airtel offers 56 days of validity, Jio provides an extended 84-day validity. Additionally, Jio users get 100 SMS per day, whereas Airtel offers a total of 600 SMS for the entire validity period. When comparing the two, Jio appears to offer better value with longer validity and more SMS. However, according to Telecom Talk, Airtel’s new plan might be a strategic move to influence future tariff adjustments in the telecom landscape.

Other Plans:

  • Vi (Vodafone Idea): Recently introduced prepaid plans with free Netflix subscriptions. Three plans come with a Netflix Basic subscription, priced at ₹199.

  • Jio: Known for budget-friendly plans, Jio offers a variety of recharge options that cater to different needs without putting a strain on the user’s budget. Their portfolio includes a range of short-term to long-term plans for user convenience.
