AIinControl: Artificial Intelligence Pilots a U.S. Fighter Jet 🚀

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is taking giant strides in modern technology, now reaching the capability to pilot a fighter jet! In a groundbreaking trial at Edwards Air Force Base in California, an AI successfully piloted an F-16 fighter jet, with the U.S. Air Force Secretary on board, showcasing the future of aerial combat.

The experiment involved an AI-controlled jet competing against a traditionally piloted aircraft in various tactical maneuvers designed to dominate aerial adversaries. The AI demonstrated strong competitive abilities, maintaining control for about an hour during the flight. After the demonstration, the Air Force Secretary highlighted the significant role AI could play in future warfare, emphasizing the risks of not embracing AI technology.

Although still in experimental phases, the U.S. Air Force has ambitious plans for an AI-based fleet, aiming to develop a squadron of 1000 unmanned fighter jets. This move includes integrating stealth technology, which makes aircraft undetectable by enemy radars, further enhancing military capabilities.
