3-Year Horror of Coercion and Assault by Hassan MP

In a chilling revelation, a JDS worker from Hassan has accused Prajwal Revanna, the local MP, of repeated sexual assaults over a three-year period. The Karnataka police, acting on the complaint filed by the woman, have registered a case against Revanna for rape, indecent behavior, and threats to release obscene videos.

The victim, a former government employee, alleged that since January 1, 2021, Revanna coerced her into compliance by threatening to use a firearm and made inappropriate videos to blackmail her. According to her, this ordeal started when she approached Revanna for assistance with a hostel seat for her daughter at his MP quarters. What followed was a harrowing sequence of events where she was isolated, threatened, and assaulted. The victim's statement detailed multiple instances of abuse, each more disturbing than the last, including threats against her life and her family's safety.

The scandal came to light when some of these videos were leaked, prompting Revanna to flee to Germany via Dubai. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has confirmed that an FIR has been registered and stated that the government is committed to ensuring justice, irrespective of Revanna's current whereabouts. The situation has escalated to diplomatic levels with appeals to revoke Revanna's passport to hinder any further evasion.
